Apple has recently released the visionOS 1.0.3 update for its Vision Pro headset, bringing important bug fixes and a significant improvement in reset functionality. This update allows users to conveniently reset their Vision Pro device at home in case they forget their passcode.
Previously, if users forgot their Apple Vision Pro passcode, they had to visit an Apple Store or obtain a special $300 Developer Strap through the Apple Developer Program to facilitate a reset. However, with the visionOS 1.0.3 update, users now have the option to erase the Vision Pro after entering an incorrect passcode a certain number of times.
It is important to note that while this reset option removes the passcode, it does not eliminate the Vision Pro’s Activation Lock. Therefore, users still need to log in with their Apple ID to access the device. This added security measure ensures that even if the Vision Pro is stolen and subsequently erased, unauthorized users will be unable to utilize it.
Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that ordering an Apple Vision Pro requires an Apple device equipped with Face ID. This requirement highlights Apple’s commitment to providing a seamless and secure user experience.
With the visionOS 1.0.3 update, Apple continues to enhance the functionality and security of the Vision Pro headset, ensuring that users have a reliable and protected device for their immersive experiences.
